The Little Things – Volume 1

Amazing little feeling it is. The shorter work weeks after those long holiday weekends are always busy…one less day to get everything done. I’ve noticed that as much as I dread being so busy that I can’t think straight, I find myself oddly charged by it. I’ve been buzzing around for the past few days at lightning speed!
I was in the grocery store a few days ago and there was an elderly gentleman standing behind me in line waiting to check-out. All he had was a bag of Cheetos in his hand so I told him that he should clearly go before me since I had an entire cart full of food. (and for the record- I’d have offered even if I didn’t) He thanked me and told me that he buys himself Cheetos every week because they make him happy. “It’s important to find the little things in everyday life that make us happy you know.” Then he shook his finger at me and said, “you remember that.” And I will. I actually couldn’t agree with him more.
Here were mine this week…
A freshly stocked bar cart. I don’t know if was this last season of Mad Men or the herbs we’ve got growing that had me wanting cocktails, but I stocked up and love having so many fun choices on hand.
The most beautifully colored roses in the powder room. Such a gorgeous contrast to the almost black walls.
Finally getting all the herbs potted…I spray painted a few of them with some gold spray paint 😉
Cute copper markers from Target

Finally checked my camera to see what pics I’d taken a couple of weeks ago on the bike bar crawl (it was a blur) and I found this fun one. Makes my heart happy- 2 of my favorite gals 🙂
