The Little Things.
TGIAF! If you have been living under a rock you should probably know that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is live. It opened last week to cardholders and opens tomorrow to everyone else.
Jokes aside, it is one of the biggest and best sales of the year. The sale offers deep discounts on brand-new merchandise and it’s a really great time to get some fall staples. My advice is to hurry if you are interested as things sell out pretty quickly. (Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns FYI)
I’m not planning on doing a ton of coverage on it this year but there are plenty of bloggers going into detail. (my Instastories are FULL of dressing room diaries- I finally had to just put my phone down and walk away so as to not get too sucked in) 🙂
As if the Nordstrom sale wasn’t exciting enough, The Capital Grille is also back with their annual summer The Generous Pour event. Running until September 3rd, for $28 per head you get to sample 7 wines that are all at least 90 points.
This year the wines are from California and Oregon and there are 4 reds and 3 whites.
In my experience, (I’ve been 3 times now) you can try as much as you want and revisit anything you like. (over and over again) 🙂 We always have several generous pours, so plan on an uber! (and you may want to cancel any morning plans you may have)
The wines each year have been fantastic and this year is no exception- the 2012 Mt. Brave cab was amazing. It is a really great deal for the quality and amount of wine. If you’re looking for a fun summer event, check it out.
Have a great weekend!

Here were a few of my favorite things these past couple weeks…
P.S. This is apparently an (unintended) food and wine edition of The Little Things. Those of you who know me well won’t be all that surprised I suppose.
