Hurricane Hermine is trying to put a damper on our long, Labor day weekend.
Knowing that the storm would be hitting our part of northeast Florida in the middle of the night, we went to bed last night with fully charged devices and flashlights on our night stands. (clearly hurricane parties aren’t what they used to be)
Fortunately, when we woke up this morning it appeared we had been spared any real damage and Hermine was already a state away. As I’m typing this, while certainly gusty, the sun and blue sky are making an appearance.
We really need the rain, but we’re celebrating my husbands birthday with a pool side BBQ, so fingers-crossed we have a mostly dry weekend. We’d toyed with the idea of a little getaway, but decided (before weather conditions were an issue) that a few days at home would be nice.
I hope to finish this book (SO good you guys…you must read it) and play the rest of the weekend by ear. Kevin is doing a happy dance at that last part. 🙂
Have a great Labor day!
