September Beauty Picks

september beauty picks

I have an addiction subscription beauty boxes, so each month I find myself with quite a few new products to try. Most of them I like, a few I give to friends, and hopefully there are a handful I find myself loving and working into my regular routine. Here are a few of my favorite items from the September boxes…

1) Vapour Organic Beauty Bronzer in Simmer 222 ($36) I wasn’t familiar with the Vapour line, so this was completely new to me. I also don’t have many cream/stick bronzers as I tend to buy powder versions, so I was curious as to how I’d like it. Why I like it? It goes on easily, blends well and I think the color is pigmented just right; not too heavy not too sheer. Often bronzers go on a little heavy, so it’s nice to have one that is buildable in shade. Unlike powders, the creamy formula is easy to work with and you’re able to put it exactly where you want it. Who sent it? Blush Mystery Beauty Box

2) RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer in Naked ($10) I tend to wear lots of nudes/light pinks and neutrals, so when I saw this exclusive to Birchbox shade was coming in my September box, I was excited. Why I like it? This is the perfect neutral/nude color. I like that it’s not too pinky or sheer, it’s perfectly rich & chic. Who sent it? Birchbox

3) Lashem 3-in-1 Eye Bright ($40) I always get really heavy, moisturizing eye creams that are perfect for applying at night, but I’m always looking for the perfect one for daytime something you can wear under make-up and isn’t too greasy. Why I like it? This LashEm serum is paraben-free and is supposed to reduce puffiness, diminish fine lines and wrinkles, lift, firm and brighten. It’s very light weight and leaves a soft, silky smooth feel to my under eye area. It also allows my under eye concealer to just glide on. Who sent it? Beauty Box 5

4) Hikari Lipstick in Cabernet ($13) It’s always a gamble when receiving lipsticks from beauty boxes- but as I’ve mentioned in other posts, I think lipstick/lipglosses are one of the best things to get in these boxes. Since you usually can’t choose the color, it forces you to try something that maybe you wouldn’t normally pick for yourself. (most of us tend to stick to a couple shades we like) I have been introduced to so many fun colors through boxes that I know I wouldn’t give a second glance at in a store. When I saw that my Ipsy box had shipped, I was crossing my fingers that I’d like this burgundy shade. Why I like it? The color is aptly named Cabernet, a matte wine color red that I really like. I was surprised by how much I liked the formula too- it’s really smooth and highly pigmented. It’s not advertised as long-lasting, but it did last quite awhile without smudging. Who sent it? Ipsy
