Living in Florida, we have very few real “seasons.” Yes, it’s hotter in the summer than it is in the winter, but we really don’t have much of a spring and/or fall. (my friend in Chicago reminds me that we don’t really have a winter either, but it’s all relative) We classify things as AC or no AC. And no AC times are few and far between! Many people love this about the south- they move here for it, but I find myself longing to see the leaves change colors and the kind of weather that allows you to curl up by a fireplace with a blanket of snow outside. (PS I say this, but once the temps drop below 50 degrees I am singing a much different story) Again, all relative. 🙂
Anyway, because of this lack of seasonal weather and wardrobe, we have to try even harder to enjoy and make the most of the “seasons” as they roll around. My neighbor spent her weekend shopping for fall décor for her front porch and I had to laugh- it was 94 degrees outside and it ain’t cooling down anytime soon, but hey- I get it. I actually love her all the more for it.
I tend to get myself in the seasonal mood with candles. I pretty much always have one burning when I’m at home and they always reflect the time of year and mood I’m in.
