Product Review – VII Code Oxygen Eye Mask for Dark Circles
I have talked before about the skin around my eyes being a problem area. I have had dark circles for as long as I can remember (mainly due to allergies / sinus issues), but they have gotten worse as I’ve gotten older. As have the fine lines and puffiness. So when VII Code reached out to me about trying their Oxygen Eye Mask for Dark Circles, I was more than willing.
They were waiting for me in the mailbox when we got back from Italy and the timing could not have been better. We’d had a pretty rough travel day on the way home thanks to some delays and missed flights, so reading that these promised to “say goodbye to tired eyes” after being awake for 28 hours was a sight for sore eyes. (pun intended)
This product is made from vitamins, antioxidants, proteins, botanicals, peptides and essential fatty acids and geared towards diminishing dark circles and fine lines. The lack of sleep (not a good look on me), combined with jet-lag and a vacation diet of starchy carbs and prosecco had left me needing all the help I could get. This was clearly the week to try these babies out…
Each box contains 6 packets, each containing under-eye patches that contain a gel-like formula that gently stick to your eyes. They feel cool and refreshing when you place them under your eyes, and I immediately liked the sensation.
Most eye-masks that I have tried in the past only require that you wear them for 15-20 minutes, so I was intrigued to read that these were to be worn for 8 hours, overnight. Sounded easy enough, but my initial concern was whether they’d stay in place while I slept. I found that although they were pretty dry to the touch when I woke-up in the morning, they stayed in place fairly well.
The recommended usage is 2-3 times per week, and 3 boxes for a full treatment. Since I only had one box, I used them twice a week for 3 weeks. Verdict? Two thumbs up. Each morning after wearing them I’d notice that the area under my eyes was noticeably smoother and well hydrated. I think they did help a little with the darkness but I feel that the biggest benefit was the reduction in puffiness. The moisturizing aspect also helped to diminish the look of the little fine lines around my eyes. I think these would be fantastic for using anytime you want to look bright-eyed and refreshed; after a night of too much vino, when travelling, before an event, during allergy season, etc. The cooling feeling they provide alone makes you feel like you’re at a spa.
