Isn’t it amazing how music can remind you so vividly of something? A person…a particular day….a time in your life…and then send you right down memory lane? For example, anytime I hear music from Les Mis or Phantom of the Opera I can remember sitting in the back of my parent’s station wagon as a kid, singing along. We listened to those soundtracks so much that my brothers and I pretty much have every Andrew Lloyd Webber lyric committed to memory.
Last week I was driving to work and heard a song on the radio that reminded me so much of high school that it was eerie. The flood of memories that came rushing back to me was intense and it triggered a phone call to a friend and we talked and laughed about it for an hour.
I’ve always loved music- for as long as I can remeber- and the best thing about satellite radio is that it exposes me to artists that I wouldn’t normally hear. There have been several songs that I’ve been drawn to recently and I’ve rounded up my 10 favorites for you. They have been on repeat in my house and car for the past couple of months.
Consider it my summer mixed-tape to you all 😉 xo
