St. Tropez tanning products have a cult following. They make some of the most popular lotions on the market and with good reason. (this is one of their best) While a little pricey, they look very natural, they’re easy to apply and they come out streak-free. (oh- and there are zero UV rays involved) 🙂
When I received a sample of the Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion, I was excited to give it a try. I’ve used many a self-tan product over the years, but nothing with an application process quite like this one. This lotion is applied on wet skin in the shower. Say what? You turn off the water, apply the lotion to the parts of your body you want to tan, and wait 3 minutes. (I did double-duty and deep conditioned my hair at the same time) After 3 minutes, you simply rinse it off. Over the next 6-8 hours, your tan will start to develop.
After one application I could tell a slight difference, but after using it 2-3 times I got the desired level of tan that I had wanted. Natural, no streaks, no orange tint. (and it didn’t come off on my clothes or sheets either- a must) Is this the kind of product to use when you just need a quick tan for a special night out? No. You’re better off with a spray tan or this. But I much prefer the “gradual” effect- nothing is worse than applying self-tanner and having a super dark, weird look to your skin.
Gradual Tan In Shower Lotion is perfect for just that- gradually building a tan. I would use this twice a week to maintain my summer tan now that fall is here. Thumbs up on this product for sure.
